Been Sleeping

Sometime in morning
Light seeps in my eyes
My eyelids roll back
Like a roller blind
I walk to the window
Take in the last of the sunrise
The newness of day
Takes me by surprise

Light comes in
I'm forced to open both eyes
I feel like I've been sleeping for so long
Light comes in
I'll crawl out from beneath this rock
False shelter from the storm
Been sleeping for so long

After a long walk
I get to the top floor
I take a seat cross my legs pick a magazine
How long will I sit here
Wait for the man to call my name
The lady behind the glass
She's getting on in age

Light comes in
I'm forced to open both eyes
I feel like I've been sleeping for so long
Light comes in
I'll crawl out from beneath this rock
False shelter from the storm
Been sleeping for so long
Been sleeping for so long
Been sleeping for so long
