The Ballad of Lickey and Diamond
Lickey Lou and Diamond, dear Diamond Stephen Quang
Unlikely friends, unlikely times
Lickey paints and Diamond, oh Diamond owns a yacht
Which he paid for with his crimes
Lickey Lou and Diamond, dear Diamond Stephen Quang
The legend lives as years go by
That on that night aboard the The S.S.D.S.Q.
One man would live
The other, die
Once upon a time two strangers meet
When Diamond spots a portrait on the street
Painted by an artist they called "Lickey Lou"
When Diamond hears his story and his desperate plea
To help him find this woman he had lost at sea
He climbs aboard his ship and says,
"I own a yacht, and you do not. We sail tonight to find your girl!"
Stephen Quang was born in the far Far East
A man who knew the seas and, to say the least,
He knew exactly where they would find Lickey's lady
But Diamond had no plans to share the prize
And before poor Lickey Lou could realize
What was happening to his head
Diamond pushed him overboard
Lickey had the strength of many men
But if he wanted to see her again
He'd really have to swim
So through the crashing waves he fought
And he was keeping up with the yacht
'Till in the distance she appeared
There she was more beautiful than she had been before
Diamond dropped the anchor and proceeded to the shore
He showered her with gifts and thinking that they were alone
He gave her Lickey's painting which he passed off as his own
But Lickey, more inspired now than he had ever been
Began to pull himself up by the anchored rope and then
He jumped aboard and grabbed a sword and hiding at the stern
He waited very patiently for Diamond to return
When Diamond brought her back and they raised the sail
He tried to win her love, but to no avail
She told him that her heart belonged to Lickey Lou
When Lickey heard these words he could wait no more
And lunging from behind, bravely drew his sword
And like Diego de la Vega, whirled around
Took Diamond down
And smiling, looked into her eyes
Lickey Lou killed Diamond and threw him to the sea
The legend goes, they say it's true
That as he held her close and they sailed into the night
Lickey bade his friend adieu
Diamond, goodbye
Diamond, goodbye (dreams come true on The D.S.Q.)
