Dragonfly Falls

There's this place
It's not on any map
The only way I know my way
Is to remember my yesterdays
With my momma and paps

And they found it out
By seakin' out the empty spaces
Leavin' their footprints on the world
Leavin' their eyes and minds on Mother Nature's graces

They would take us along
My two sisters and I
Away from home, readin' and preachin'
Through the teachin's they have helped define my mind

My memories remind me
As I meander up those sylvan halls
Just to let these green trees hide me
As I try to leave these worried thoughts inside of me
Behind of me, I'm gone
Back to Dragonfly Falls

The maple seeds are spinning
Drifting softly to the ground
While the moms and dads are grinning
In the breeze they take a bow
It's cause and effective movement
As the ring of love goes on and on
And so I try to live it strong
And I try to live as long as I can at least recall
My memories of Dragonfly Falls

We take the highway
To the old river road
When that old road turns left
We'll just keep headin' straight on through

We trade the tarmac
For the dirt track
Until it's too narrow for us to fit in
'Cause where that well traveled world ends
That is exactly where this escape begins

Trade your saddle
For a paddle
And trade your sandles for some markwar shoes

Keep that blackwater movin' 'neath you
Until it moves too fast
And you need to pull your canoe

May a ta portage tu

They will give their mind us(?)
Find them heeding nature's call

But they would never find us
We'd become lost as this old river winds us
And rewinds us in time
Back to Dragonfly falls

Reflect the setting summer sun
In the presence of such things
My senses come undone
Its the magic of the momentary
Zen that passes by and by

And I'll accept it and begin again
