Clotho's Web

High, high, high are the Gods that rule the sky
You can't reverse the order of the universe

"I will love you 'til I die", said the seagull to the sky
"I will love you 'til I go", aid the winter to the snow
"I will love you while I can", said the lady to the man

And Clotho slowly weaves her web, hearing every word that's said
Her patterns formed with coloured thread
Using amethyst instead of yellow when the day is ripe
She summons another type of blue for the newborn day

High, high, high are the Gods that rule the sky
You can't reverse the order of the universe

She smiles and tempts the sun to stay
Watching while the puppets play as the night becomes a screen
With care, she places every dream in a rainbow-coloured fire
The moon reveals her smile and the heavens open wide

High, high, high are the Gods that rule the sky
You can't reverse the order of the universe

Each promise now becomes a poem
Each life, each word, each chromosome
So, she weaves her tapestry
She knows the loved cannot be free
Her needle marks the destiny of mortal souls like you and me
Of mortal souls like you and me
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)

(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)

(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
(Of mortal souls like you and me)
