Surgery

I'll make a joke and she'll try not to laugh
As the men made of stone find their surgery masks
I head down the road or the linoleum floor
I really can't tell anymore
I see fluorescent clouds and white tile sky
I see trees all around with nametags on their ties
She takes my hand, and the trees turn around
She says, "promise you're coming back out."
