Crucify Him

As you walk along in your everyday life
with petty little problems and your silly little gripes
You think you've got it made and that you do it right
there's so much that you don't see

In this comfortable world it's so easy to forget
the tragedy of loss and the pain of our sin
in the death of Christ it's so hard for you to get
you placed it all on Him

You beat and bruise Him you mock and abuse Him
with every sin you commit
You hold the lashes that tear Him apart
put the crown of thorns on his head

You hold the hammer that drove in the nails
you put the spear in His side
you turned your back and you joined with the crowd and screamed
Crucify Him

The only man to live a perfect live
have perfect thoughts through temptation and strife
His purpose on earth atoning sacrifice
Do you know this man

He loves you so much that He gave up Himself
took all of your sin and even walked in hell
through His great love can't you even tell
He did this all for you

Each one of us has played our own part
in cursing our God and in breaking His heart
it's so sad to see just how fallen we are
these lives are how we repay
