Chapter II

Well I never paid attention when I was a young boy,
To the great instructions from the ones who came before me,
But now that I'm older I long to pay attention,
But it doesn't seem like anyone is saying much of anything,

Well there's a piece of me that loves all this sadness,
That loves for onlookers to call me tragic,
But buried underneath all the women and the booze,
Is a man that I know who's ashamed at what I choose,

Well I believe in God,
And I believe he wants me to believe in me,

So what's it gonna take to make this stop,
And what I gotta do to know I've got,
All the strength inside my bones,
To let it go,
To let it drop,

Well, I've been holding on for so long it seems,
That what I'm holding has been holding me,
