Bones

Jose lost all of his bones to the ground.
Leave them, leave them sound.
His notebook opened up his frowns as he wrote:
"Too much tension guides us. Leaves me a little lifeless.
And nothing really excites me anymore"

Taking it all away, leaving it all behind.
They say that life can just pass you by.

Even if you said that he would make it now,
I still can't believe that Jose lost all of his bones.
Left his job to go get stoned.
Not yet a father, lied in the darkness.
Two or three hours on the couch most nights.
Hardly a drinker,
carefully thinking what the world owes him and when it will pay.

Leaving it all behind, taking a break for a while
They say that life can just pass you by.
Pacing the halls at night, maybe you've lost your mind.
They say it's only a matter of time.

Leaving it all behind, taking a break for a while
They say that life can just pass you;
don't say that life will just pass you.
Pacing the halls at night, maybe you've lost your mind.
They say it's only a matter of time.
