Amazing Rocket Ship

One fine day the sun failed to rise
We all woke up to black and lonely skies
How would we see and how would we grow?
We all need the sun to live, you know!

So we climbed into our amazing rocket ship
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one
Blast off! We're headin' for the sun

So we flew into space and finally reached the sun
And with our space megaphone, said, "Shine, shine!"
Well that didn't work 'cause he was sleepin' pretty deep
So we got a runnin' start and we jumped on him
'Til he laughed a belly laugh and opened up his eyes
And brightened up the skies with his fire
He said, "I guess I'm bone-tired from risin' in the morn
Every single day since the universe was born!"
Universe was born!

Saved the day!

One fine eve the moon failed to wax
Stayed a skinny little crescent while a whole long month passed
Who would bring the tides and who'd light up the night
We need the moon to be full, that's right!

So we climbed into our amazing rocket ship
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one
Blast off! We're headin' to the moon

So we flew into space and finally reached the moon
With our space megaphone yelled, "Shine, shine!"
Well that didn't work she was too empty to fill up
So we called the dish and spoon and said, "Feed her!"
And we got the dog to laugh and the cat to the play the fiddle
And we even got the cow to jump over her
Until she filled right up into her chubby round self
Singing, "I was sad and lonely but the party's sure here now!"

Nothin' up there to twinkle about
How would we wish, and navigate our way
We need the stars to shine, we say!

So we climbed into our amazing rocket ship

Blast off! We're headin' to the stars

So we flew into space and finally reached the stars
With our space megaphone yelled, "Shine, shine!"
Well that didn't work the sky was still black as pitch
So we closed our eyes and wished for a light switch
And right then and there one materialized
So we flicked it on the sky was filled with diamonds
They said, "We love to blink and twinkle all night long
But someone's gotta remember to turn us on!"
Turn us on!
