Hope

They don't look doubtful
Even though the world scene
Is nothing like their beautiful dream
They remain hopeful
Willing their mind to keep dreaming
Because of a good feeling
And nope, they do cope
Nothing will ever take away, their full hearted hope

Peace, the word on the lips
Of a kid with a thought on its fingertips
A vision of world order
An innocent mission, no country needing borders
We're left to wonder, will we ever get the end of war
Along with the guns and powder
Harmony between the wealthy and the poor, the dark and the pure
This kid is now reading louder
To block out the cries of a nearby woman
Beaten to death in her own town of Iran
The kid cries with a nervous laughter
Reading its favourite line of the book
"And they lived happily ever after."

Love, the heart-warming dove, from above
Spreading joy for all those who have it, since they were young
And they can still express it, via the tip of their tongue
Even though they're going bold, and growing old
They still cherish and care, for their other half
Whom they became a pair, all those years ago
While some of us still look for, the special one
To spend our lives with, others believe
They don't have long to wait, they have faith
Soon enough they will have that one day that begins it all
Won't be long, until they call
Their kids' names, and their family grows tall

What a bunch of nightmares
Is it not unfair?
That a person is judged on gender or colour
Do we not care?
That some kids have nothing to eat
Not even a grape of fruit
Let alone a little wheat or meat
They're part of a long line of poverty
And their heart beat is fading away
Yet they have hope, their poor mother will find a way
For them to cope, day upon day
