One, two, three, four

From the Appalachian mountains
To the Rocky mountain hills
Prairie grass is growing and the wind
Is blowing from roots to panicles

Can't you see 'em wave?
Swaying to and fro
Can't you see 'em wave?
They're so beautiful
So wave prairie grass and save prairie grass (s.a.v.e.)
'Cause nature gave the prairie grasses as a gift to all of us
And I am happy just because I love to see 'em wave

We should all say thanks to the prairie grasses
For their good deeds
'Cause there wouldn't be cereal
Oatmeal or cookies without their seeds

Well, there are many creatures living in the prairie grass
And now I'll tell you lots of them super, duper fast
You'll find some centipedes and eagles
Foxes and some meadowlarks
A pronghorn meets a mouse (hello)
Spiders and coyotes, rattlesnakes and owls
Bison, deer and grouse

Nematodes and sparrows
Badgers in the burrows
Blackbirds fly in flocks
Grasshoppers, rabbits, earthworms, skunks
Quails, geese and red-tailed hawks
Oh, and prairie dogs too

Can't you see 'em wave
Swaying to and fro
When we see 'em wave
That's true love, you know
One last time

Because nature gave the prairie grasses
As a gift to all of us
And all of us means all of you
And the prairie critters too
