The Machine

I'm plugged into the machine for my daily medicine
I don't know what my body's doing and I don't want to feel a thing
Not today, not today

I walk my avatar through the world
Hide my heart cause it's much too large for you to hold
There's a reservoir behind these walls

Wait, I want to touch you
Wait, I want to see you
It's not too late for me to dismantle the machine
I don't want to be alone
I don't want to be alone

I can barely feel my fingers in control
I can barely feel your breath on my skin
I'm not sure what my body's doing here
Why it's feeling so many things today, today

I'm sucked out into the screen
A bundle of thoughts clogging up the machine
But my heart longs to be seen

Wait, I want to touch you
Wait, I want to see you
It's not too late for me to dismantle the machine
I don't want to be alone
I don't want to be alone

Outside the sun is shining
I can see us on our picnic rug
There's no where for me to be today but
In my body, meeting yours
