Moccasin Mile

I have tried to fix this with my heel
Put on those shoes, the ones you used to use
You said that time can fix all kinds of things
Tread the dust to see what the motion brings
Here, in the night, underneath a silvery sky
I'll try to walk a moccasin mile

And if you can't be good then please be careful
Because we'd protect you if we could
And we don't want to see your tears make your eyes look dull
And though time spirals out before you
It's an old trail and it moves in circles
And so you'll make the same mistake and stand again
Because soft shoulders surround you
Here, in the night, let's try to walk a moccasin mile
