A Fisherman's Life

Dad says, "Get up, come on, let's go
The fish are biting, the sun is rising"
I put on my suit and my flip-flops too
'Cause I can't wait to get out in the bloom
I grabbed my pole and my taco box
I got the compass, I checked the clock
I pack my bucket and lots of bait
"Come on, dad, I can't wait!"

The boat is racing, the waves are splashing
The sun is shining bright
One by one, we're catching fish
Won't go home 'til it's night
A fisherman's life for me
A fisherman's life for me

I throw the anchor, it's time to fish
The sea is calm, I make a wish
To catch a big one, to show my friends
We'll celebrate, again and again
But first, I slowly tie a knot around my hook and Bubba top
Then set the bait and here I go
I cast the line and wait for the show

The boat is racing, the waves are splashing
The sun is shining bright
One by one, we're catching fish
Won't go home 'til it's night
A fisherman's life for me
A fisherman's life for me

I wait on the boat, my pole set and I sit
And all of a sudden, a great big hit
I reel the line in to see my fish
One more tug is in the boat with a swish
Flipping, flopping, gills and fins
Dad takes a picture, I'm holding him
It's so exciting to end this day
With the monster fish as the fishermen say

The boat is racing, the waves are splashing
The sun is shining bright
One by one, we're catching fish
Won't go home 'til it's night
A fisherman's life for me
A fisherman's life for me

The boat is racing, the waves are splashing
The sun is shining bright
One by one, we're catching fish
Won't go home 'til it's night
A fisherman's life for me
A fisherman's life for me
