Selfish

Look at the leaves as they blow
In the wind to and fro
Look at the birds as they fly
Up in the sunlit sky

And all of a sudden I realised
That there's no reason to cry
That everything will work out fine
And it's just a matter of time

Piano man climbs aboard his stool
Plays a beggar a lonesome tune
All the beggar can do is cry
As past his deaf ears music flies

And all of sudden I realised
That it's been five days since I closed my eyes
But my heart keeps right on beating
So why should I waste my time sleeping

Right this minute a baby is born
And straight away she feels forlorn
There's something not right inside her head
And they say in twenty years she'll be dead

And I have no reason to be upset
And why should I always have to fret
When there are people far worse off than me
I suppose I act too selfishly
