Kill Devil Hills

The Riverside is a bar that i would frequent from time to time when i was sheriff of Kill Devil Hills
Its the kind of town you can't take a leak without everyone knowing behind which tree
Long on time and short on ways to fill it
This one night i was emptying out a couple long necks, by the bar by a boy they called "Little rex" on account
He's just this side of 375
As the name might suggest to you, there was a river that ran behind that saloon,
And i can tell you that after that night

I hope, i hope, i hope they never drag that river

Lindsey Anne was in rare form
In the sweetest pair of blue jeans ever worn by a 5' freckled face southern born Siren
Little Rex had always had the eye for Lindsey Anne
And its no surprise he wanted just a little bit more
If you know what i mean
She stepped out the back, bottle in her hand
And i assumed that she had planned to blow some home grown
Into that Carolina wind
Well i looked away and when i looked back
I seen "Little Rex" walking though a door that i know now
He was never gonna walk back through again

I hope, i hope, i hope they never drag that river

Well the little hand moved just a little bit past the 3 before it had dawned on me
I had best go see what was keeping "Lindsey Anne"
Glass on the ground and blood in the air, Lindsey Anne was standin' there
She said "sheriff you mind givin' a lady a hand?"

I hope, i hope, i hope they never drag that river

The Riverside is a bar that i would frequent from time to time
When i was sheriff of Kill Devil Hills
