Thunder Makes the Noise

That life would have a mind of it's own
The rescue that I tried to avoid
It fell into my lap from the tilt of the day
Because I was spending my time
In those self inflicted crimes
The shot glass and the stein
Oh I was on my way

Following your limbo moves
The eyes that stare in empty space
I must have seeing something nobody else saw
You needed me as much
As some dying man needs the touch
So let me be your crutch
Oh I can show you the way
That we both have our play.

Thunder makes the noise,
Lightning got that poise
Can't you see
Thunder makes the noise,
Lightning has the poise
A simple case of you and me

So living as we do
With what we've both been through
I'm amazed that we both choose, emotionally, what the motion will be.

Because I've been part of so many storms
They've washed away too much of my soil
Leaving me so bare I can hardly replace
So babe I won't pretend
In all this time I've spend
I can't remember when
I've felt a fresher breeze
Flowing through these trees

Thunder makes the noise,
Lightning got that poise
Can't you see
Thunder makes the noise,
Lightning has the poise
A simple case of you and me
Definitely
