Long ago you came to me
All that I could see
A thousand days ahead of us
We took photos of the firsts
Your smiles and steps and words
Life had just begun

Loved you then starting out together
Thought somehow the ride would last forever, but

Days drown in the river of time

Your cries kept us up all night

Growing up is part of life
