The Gospel According to a Sheep

Well maybe it's not my concern
but I wonder what's beyond the hill
Me and my companions never saw the bountiful meadows of what lies beyond.
Our shepherds are stupid, they don't seem to care.
Their eyes are empty and their hands are shaking.
Now bare with me but I would bet my wool on it there's more to it than the stars will let us see.
We'll maybe It's not my concern
but my life is short and there is something about to happen.
It's bound to happen.
It's in the air and I know that stars
shouldn't be as big as the one above my head.
But I wonder, about the noise coming from the sky. The hill is on fire. I catch glory with my eye!

Hallelujah,
I praise the things I do not understand.
But I Join the angels, in their holy flying marching band.

But hold your donkeys. I know what's going on, it's a charade, it's a trap!
I do not believe in miracles, I follow the flock.
This must be a trick of the mind.
Maybe I ate the wrong grass.
This is not how it should be, this is not what suits me,
is this what it's like to be free?
We'll maybe it is!
Maybe this is what lies beyond the hill.
It sure looks bountiful.
And the shepherds don't even see it.
They're asleep, like sheep!
But I can not even sing along,
I can only cry.
I don't like the corny but I can't help crying along!
And the angels look beautiful,
there's nothing wrong.
But no! I will resist this stupid song,
I will be a sheep! I will...

Hallelujah,
I praise the things I do not understand.
But I Join the angels, in their holy flying marching band.

I won't join the angels – I will join the angels
I won't join the angels – I will join the angels
I won't join the angels – I will join the angels
I won't – I will
I won't – I will
I won't – I will

Hallelujah,
I praise the things I do not understand.
But I Join the angels, in their holy flying marching band.
