The List Is Long

Each year in summer, he lays down his head
RUmbles through the good and bad times that he had
Sometimes deluded, sometimes so loved
Put into action, cut the chords from above
Realized by getting older, the entertainer grew
He threw away all that was old to create something new

The list is long, The rot is deep
Tormented fireflies with burning eyes try to make him weep
All those big mouths with rotten teeth
They won't make him miss one second of sleep

Tricks ended on a cold floor, fake shadows lit
Put out all that was disguise, he put himself up in the light
Realized by getting older, the awareness grew
Throw away all that is old to create something new

The list is long. The rot is deep
Tormented fireflies with burning eyes try to make me weak
All those big mouths with rotten teeth
Will always judge, repress, distract, react
But they won't make me miss one second of sleep

My friend get out of that camping coma
Believe in what you do; this is your life
If you think meowing's great
Then put a song around it
Cuz maybe someone else than the cat will love it too
