Running with the Stars

I've been rolling back the stone,
wondering where I lie.
Well ain't got a penny,
but I don't need many,
I'm running with the stars.

There's too much law, there's too much strife,
there's too much going on.
There's too much lust, there's not enough trust,
too much getting lost.
I don't want to live my life as some sort of sacrifice
I want to say that I tried.

Leaving town on a whim,
see the old town fall in spring,
Well I ain't got much,
I got a hand to clutch,
I'm running with the stars.

There's too much law, there's too much strife,
there's too much going on.
There's too much lust, there's not enough trust,
too much getting lost.
I don't want to live my life
as some sort of sacrifice
I want to say that I tried.

Trouble at home is trouble against my friends,
trouble over seas is only autumn breezes.
Trouble at home is trouble against my friends
and I don't want to say my words
are ever going to change the world.

There's too much law, there's too much strife,
there's too much going on.
There's too much lust, there's not enough trust,
too much getting lost.
I don't want to live my life
as some sort of sacrifice
I want to say that I tried.
