Chains Come Off

His cry rings in the race to the city square
the streets fill but are deaf to hear His prayer.
Only the sick have a driving need for the drink brought to the least of these.

Hey, hey, hey! Son of David, turn aside and come my way.
I've heard of wonders that Your hands have brought.
I won't stop crying till the chains come off.
Hey, hey, hey! Son of David, please come vindicate my faith. You have the living water that I've sought.
I won't stop crying till the chains come off.

Still He calls to the feast that He's prepared.
His words are rain to all who meet Him there.
Wisdom leads the trees' applause, while He calls each seed up to His cause.
"If any desire let him come to the water! come seek the Lord while He may be found!"
only the sick have the driving need for the drink brought to the least of these.

In a moment there's change, as blinding as a lightning flash,
and every slave rises up from out of the ashes.
His flesh dwells in a glory we saw,
in a burden that's light where the chains come off.
