About the Tides

Climbed a mountain top and found it all crowded
So i walked down to the valley and found myself alone
I saw frowns turn into smiles
Saw people turn their head and look away

Heard the sound of a river bending
Heard the sound of summer rain on asphalt fall
I heard strong winds cut the edges of high buildings
And whistling in my ears

Have not been to India or Nepal
Haven't seen the Great Chinese Wall
But sure I'd like to go there
Some day

Once i knew a man who hated to go to work
Knew a woman she was afraid of growing old
Then i went to the ocean and felt like home

Once i saw a sunrise over the ocean
And thought how lucky i was
