The Time Machine

If I could only turn back time and stop her falling through My hands
Just like the sand through the glass, I've got to get her Back
Four years I shut myself away and did not sleep a night or Day
A great machine I must design - an hourglass to turn back Time
It was the night that I proposed, as we were walking through The snow
And as I gazed into your eyes we were taken by surprise
And on this winter's night,
so cold - I feel the fear, it's Taking hold
There was a struggle,
I tried to fight - and then he stole Away her life
From the barrel of the gun, one bullet, she is gone
I have to go back to save her - I'll travel through time!
Back to that night, her eyes were still bright
But just when I saved her she died again
And every time the sky was black, I felt a coldness in her Hands
Why can't I save her, get her back? I can't begin to Understand...
I'd sacrifice and give it all - if I could have just one More kiss
I have the power of a god, yet I am still powerless
So as I slowly lost my mind and then lost track of all the Days
I could go back a thousand times and watch her die a Thousand ways
And as the shot rang through the air, it was too much for me To bear
That's why I built it, to save her I'll travel through time
Back to the past, when I saw her last
But just when I held her she died again
Now that I've lost my only love - what reason do I have to Stay?
So when I realized she's gone I went forward through time
To the unknown, now I am alone
To search for an answer, why can't she remain?
And so at last I have arrived - a stranger lost in a strange Time
Yet still no answer to my woe, why didn't I just let him go?
I sense there's something very wrong, I think I've known it All along
I must give up, for I have failed. There is no light in this New dawn
I only built it cause she died, it won't exist if she Survives
That's why I never can save her - I cannot fight time!
The sky's turning black, I can't get her back
And never can save her from dying again...
