A Shepherd In Search of a Lamb

Out in the darkness... a hillside so steep,
The Shepherd so lovingly watches His sheep.
Standing His guard, He's troubled to find
Instead of one hundred, there's ninety and nine.

So over the mountains and valleys He climbs;
Aware of the dangers, but determined to find
The one He is seeking with all of His might
Wayfaring lamb who is lost in the night.

As long as I live I'll not understand;
The love of the Shepherd in search of the lamb.

So listen to someone who's been in the cold
Wandering aimlessly far from the fold.
No mountains too steep and no valleys too far,
The Shepherd who loves you with all of His heart.

So over the mountains and valleys He climbs
Aware of the dangers, but determined to find;
The one He is seeking with all of His might
Wayfaring lamb who is lost in the night.

As long as I live I'll not understand
The love of a Shepherd in search of the lamb.

As long as I live I'll not understand
The love of a Shepherd in search of the lamb
