Just a Singer

Started to sing in a band at school
A 15 year old boy not really cool
I had posters of the Beatles on my walls
And dreamed of full-packed concert halls But no one told me how and why
It all just needed that first try And as the years went by
My dreams came true
Right in the middle of the stage
I knew what to do
I learned how to fly
And I learned to come down
Sometimes a wise man and sometimes a clown But please don't ask me how and why
It all just followed that first try I sing what I mean, believe me or not
The words may be cool, the lines may be hot
I don't want to cheat and I don't want to lie
You get what you hear till my last goodbye
No matter if a loser no matter if a winner
But after all, that's for sure, in the end I'm just a singer singing my songs for you
I'm just a singer
It's singing that's helping to get through I still don't know 'bout how and why
Bit it's getting better with every try 40 and more of my years just passed
And I wonder for how long this could last
I hope it's half way there's plenty of time
To give and to take and to make live rhyme
And sometimes a loser and sometimes a winner
But afer all, and that's for sure, in the end I'm just a singer ...
