What a Mess

There was I girl I used to know when I was younger
But I'm glad to say I don't know that girl any longer
'Cause she broke my heart in two
What the hell was I supposed to do?
So I just left, goodbye and god bless, cause what a mess

But then I learned a thing or two about that woman
She hung around with all the boys that I knew back then
And they all came tumbling' down
Ain't no honest man in town
But I was gone, without no distress, cause what a mess

Well she hooked up with a friend of mine
It all worked out for a few weeks' time
But then at a party with some boys from his band
They caught their drummer with his pants down

And needless to say band ain't no more
'Cause when the drummer was sacked the bass player went for the door
It ain't no big deal to me
'Cause I got other places to be
And I was gone, and couldn't care less, cause what a mess

Well, she came back to that friend of mine
And they fooled each other for a long long while
But when they was caught doing the same old affairs
I laughed so hard I almost fell down the stairs

And there's more guys to the story that she screwed over
I ain't no help saying sorry when you get sober
There's no conscience that is clean
And man alive, that woman is mean
