Broken Lullaby

You're a little strange,
But that's ok,
You never had to try,
It just came,

To whisper in your ear,
On all those nights,
When you felt alone,
In a broken home,

And late at night you saw strange creatures
In your room,
Singing hymns to all the strange things
left to do,

When you were young you learned quite
early all you had to loose,
And the dark seemed all you had,
Now take my hand we'll make it back.

So cling tightly dear
To those lost years,
When you felt so small,
And the world was bruised,

Burned by the stove,
Lost ones you loved,
Too early on,
To know they're gone!

And you still hear their broken lullaby,
Tapping at your window,
Strolling across the roof at night,
And it still screams to you no matter how hard you hide
Maybe you're meant to be broken,
Maybe it means much more,
Maybe not tonight.

When I was a boy I walked in dust,
Invisible to the world,
And silent in my cage,
With secret eyes and few to trust,
Look what the dreams have made of us,
As the rabbit takes the stage,
