The Sun Setting Low
I look out of my window at the sun setting low
Setting on a day in which we laid our momma low
I remember all the times we had and now I miss her so
As I look out of my window at the sun setting low
I look out of my window at the sun setting low
And set out for to write the words to let my momma know
What I had I wished I'd said before she would have to go
As I look at of my window at the sun setting low
And as the blues they fade into red
There's an emptiness I can see coming up ahead
And there's a hole in my heart I need to fill
And heaven only knows if God only will
I look out of my window at the sun setting low
And start to cry when I think of how I miss my momma so
And I realize this day now will be etched down in my soul
As I look out of my window at the sun setting low
I look out of my window at the sun setting low
As it slips behind the tree line that's still covered up with snow
I'm reminded with each ending a beginning's to behold
And I creep across a smile as the suns setting low
And as the blues they fade into red
I can see my momma smile clearly in my head
When I'll see her again God only knows
But that's the way it goes and that's fine I suppose
For God is as sure as the sun setting low
