The Pioneers

Centuries and stories told, visitors discovered roads
that wound along the ridges of the long way
They followed down, the winds were strong, they pushed along, they wanted more
The sun felt like an iron on the land
They were sure they could see

...Out on the water
...Out there in nowhere
...Nobody owns it
...I want to go there with you

They started out as pioneers, pure of heart and Right as clear as
children's eyes, they cut days into seasons
They kept travelling back and forth, invented night and prayers and North,
Their roads became a means of never ending
But every time they'd cut across / the land to retake what they'd lost
And get back to the other side, they'd almost see, they'd barely miss
A middle place that they could live...

...Out on the water
...Out there in nowhere
...Nobody owns it
...I want to go there with you

...Out there in nowhere... I wanna go
