The Child of Fire

In mountains high and forests shady
blowing wind and blinking sun
Moon a'shining stars a'falling
Greeted on their son.
Up the stream in a mountain cave his
Mother laboured all alone
Cast out for his misconception
The prodigy son was born.

"Hear my words", they heard the oracle
Downstreams in the gathering tent
The earth and air will bear you a miracle
Easing your lament
For what you yearned for's coming live
A child who'll fight your unfought wars
So bow and pray for he's arriving
Far in a mountain hide

And he's on fire

All the sages, all the villagers
Climbed their way to the mountain hide
Brought along their gifts for the prodigy
Bowing for his might
And as they knelt and mumbled prayers
Their hearts gave in to the profet's words
But none of them was brave enough
To look him in the eyes

For they were fire

The years went by and the boy grew up
Slaying dragons, mending souls
None could match his valourous deeds but
Join him in his cause
And soon enough there came the day
When he rose up 'gainst the tyrant king
Lightnings served him, winds obeyed him
And they fought by him on

Wings of fire
