The Collectors Hall of Fame

My dad's got
Baseball, football, basketball and bicycle
Any old card, won't have to look to hard
I'm sure it's floating round here somewhere
And the John F. Kennedy Memorial Library's right over there
At the bottom of the stairs
To move it take a month of Sunday's

John said " Joe we need a plan
Sure could use another set of hands"
Sense of emergency came over me and I said"

The silver certificates are drying outside
Two dollar bills are on a table to the right
Fives and up are all over the porch
On the deck there's more to sort
Cardboard coins with the staples on the side
Dinning room floor on the left, to the right
Scrap books all about World War II
Swear to God nothing he wasn't in to
Our old man he'd put em all to shame
At The Collectors Hall of Fame

He's got
Stamp books, coin books, scrap books and comic books
Everywhere
Man I swear
All this gotta go somewhere
And in all this catastrophe, brought our family
Closer you see, It's times like these
Gets written into family history

Stacks of records out in the trash
George Jones, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash
Part of our lives that went by way to fast

The silver certificates are drying outside
Two dollar bills are on a table to the right
Fives and up are all over the porch
On the deck there's more to sort
Cardboard coins with the staples on the side
Dining room floor on the left, to the right
Scrap books all about World War II
Swear to God nothing he wasn't into
Our old man he'd put em all to shame
At The Collectors Hall of Fame

On Easter Sunday a pump went down
Nothings open for miles around
Visit Dad for a little while he said"
Son where ya been", as he smiled

Well
That's the great flood of two thousand ten
Hope I never have to go through it again
Fourteen days water pouring in
I learned a lesson or two back then
Lock my treasures up in my heart
Now would be a good time to start I'll
Carry this tradition in his name
Since that day nothings been the same
At The Collectors Hall of Fame
At The Collectors Hall of Fame
At The Collectors Hall of Fame
