To Be Afraid

She was tied up in a lasso
Muted ringing of her cell phone
She hates herself for being human
She didn't think there was a way to win
People screaming from the hallway
She knows that they don't feel the same pain
And now her words can turn
The writing the gets paler
And I begin to see the red lines kill her

Don't fight the fear inside
You know it's sanctified
She's running out of time

It's ok to not be ok
They say it works out anyway
But I know getting through the day
Is hard
Life never stops for the slower ones
They tell you to fight
But they're the ones with the guns
Being me doesn't hurt anyone
Just hold on
It's ok to be afraid

She was hiding on the playground
I don't think she knew the ways out
When she was hiding in her room
She felt safer
With nobody but her thoughts
And her razer

Don't fight the feelings you hide
You know they're justified
They keep you up at night

It's ok to not be ok
They say it works out anyway
But I know getting through the day
Is hard
Life never stops for the slower ones
They tell you to fight
But they're the ones with the guns
Being me doesn't hurt anyone
Just hold on
It's ok to be afraid
