For the World Is Hollow

the seas that glisten
the winds in her sands
are just a disguise

i heard a rumour
i heard that the earth
is empty on the inside

it's so hard to decipher
the truth gets so obscure
the promise of a mission
the hope of a cure

i see it in their faces
suppressing, questioning
it's never easy for us
but it's nicer to believe

they don't know what to ask
they can't choose who will lead
the faith is hard to swallow
but it's harder to conceive

in fear they will follow
because they don't know

the world is hollow
