Poetry and Light
So today's the day
You'll break the habit's what you say
That today's the day you'll find your sweet release
And tonight's the night
That you'll give up on that fight
Stop pretending this is more than what it seems
So you crash and burn
Double back and hit return
Erase it all and then you start again
When there's so much pain
That you're sure you'll go insane
That's when you swear that this will truly be the end
Now your worst enemy is the memory
Of the choices that you made
The ones that haunt you in the stillness of the night
And you ask desperately, will they remember me
What's the thing I'll leave behind
When all that's left of me is poetry and light
So today's the day
That you'll set out on your way
Pack your bags and never look behind again
And tonight's the night
That you swear you'll get it right
And find the strength to quell the voices in your head
When your worst enemy is the memory
Of the choices that you made
The ones that haunt you in the stillness of the night
And you ask desperately, will they remember me
What's the thing I'll leave behind
When all that's left of me
When all that's left...
You'll break the habit's what you say
That today's the day you'll find your sweet release
And tonight's the night
That you'll give up on that fight
Stop pretending this is more than what it seems
So you crash and burn
Double back and hit return
Erase it all and then you start again
When there's so much pain
That you're sure you'll go insane
That's when you swear that this will truly be the end
Now your worst enemy is the memory
Of the choices that you made
The ones that haunt you in the stillness of the night
And you ask desperately, will they remember me
What's the thing I'll leave behind
When all that's left of me is poetry and light
So today's the day
That you'll set out on your way
Pack your bags and never look behind again
And tonight's the night
That you swear you'll get it right
And find the strength to quell the voices in your head
When your worst enemy is the memory
Of the choices that you made
The ones that haunt you in the stillness of the night
And you ask desperately, will they remember me
What's the thing I'll leave behind
When all that's left of me
When all that's left...
