Joshua Tree

I fell asleep in something I buried.
Woke with the taste of the dirt in my mouth.
I will survive this, however scary.
The rivers running even if there is a drought.
And if there's a way, I'll find it.
And if there's a way, I'll find it.
So...
Please beleive in me.
My roots are shallow but they're all that I need.
Please believe in me.
I am the one that's safe to follow.
I'm the Joshua Tree.
There are markings all down my body.
Constant reminders that I didn't give in.
To the temptation to go home early.
I am a statue in the heaviest wind.
And if there's a way, I'll find it.
So...
Please beleive in me.
My roots are shallow but they're all that I need.
Please believe in me.
I am the one that's safe to follow.
I'm the Joshua Tree.
The twist in the my shoudlers is me moving forward, a coming to be I am the Joshua Tree.
