Keep on Walking

I saw a picture speak a thousand words
Without even breathing it was revealing
A mirror that was shaped with endless curves
In a silhouetted frame that bore my name

Hear me calling, don't you dare look away
I'm trying hard to find a way to get myself out of this place
That's kept me down so long
At times I feel like giving up but then I see a glimmer
And I know it can't be wrong

To keep on walking, if I don't and stop
The ground below me will try to swallow me right up
Just keep on walking, till I reach the higher ground
And maybe then I will find that I can be someplace that finally feels home

A vacant look reflected in her eyes
This could have been me, and this could have been you
A young girl that will age before her time
Oh brother, we need to spare more than a dime

Keep on walking, if I don't and stop
The ground below me will try to swallow me right up
Just keep on walking, till I reach the higher ground
And maybe then I will find that I can be someplace that finally feels home

Know that you will find I'm not the kind to walk away
If you take my hand then know that I am here to stay
