June 1

What a life to try in dreams
When waking wakes the soaking bed
Tugging boxers to their seams
With people that you thought were dead

The power's out again, my friend
So make those noises loud again
Limp across the sallow fields
To find a joy that cannot feel

Because I will grow a beard for you
And tie you in the orchard, too
Why would all these colored boys
Believe in making love to you?

I'll turn off the screen one day
These nights will shuck and peel away
And I will fall in love with my God
And let my anger run away

Oh it's easy to forget the
Names of all the pretty spiders
Oh it's easy to forget that
I belong in yellow fires
