Peaches & Cream

Got my eyes locked on my feet
Walkin on down the road
Got my head in the clouds
To see me from down below

Jumped off the freight train
Lookin for a hot meal to eat
Dropped off my knapsack
At my draggin' feet

And I cried
Lord I sure am tired
How do I carry on, before I die
So I got down on my dirty knees
And began to pray

Never liked religion or material things
Ive always lived a simple life
I live by my own means
But I've kept a bible until the age of 25
Than I threw it back at god
God damn don't I feel alive

So how do I share the words
That have held my tears all this time
So I picked myself off the ground
And carried on my way

I kicked the rock on the pavement
Down below
And I followed the yellow lines
Just as far as they would go
And I praised the name of the holy son
Everyday at 9
But im a sinner myself
Got me stuck in a bottle of rye

Oh its a living, hell, its the only way
So don't you bow down on your knees
Don't ever be a slave
Cause my dreams are unreal at best
But they'll take me to my grave
Take me to my grave
