The City at Sea

I taste your lips and the silent lies that always drip from them every day.
And I see the lies, and it comes to no surprise once again, my dearest friend.
Can't you see what this cold and crooked world has done to me?
I lie awake in bed, thinkin' all these awful thoughts all in my head.
I try to realize a life for neither you nor I exists, eternal bliss.
But I'll turn my cheek,
Trying to hide you from seeing me contemplating this.
It grows right through you.
It controls everything that you do.
Did you ever think that you'd feel so alive,
With something so dark growing inside you?
