War Zone
And when I woke up I
was in a war zone,
just sorting through all of this propaganda.
I closed my eyes again,
it all came seeping in;
I wondered if I left my things in order.
It seems so different than
I pictured in my head.
Everyone fighting looked exactly like me.
The ground was shaking, so
I found a foxhole,
and I stayed there for an entire weekend.
I've been waiting so long.
I don't want to be carrying it no more.
I've been waiting so long.
I don't want to be carrying it no more.
At first I tried to run
in each direction
between the concrete and the other wreckage.
Then the next morning there
was nothing here and
we figured that the battle must have moved on.
I've been waiting so long.
I don't want to be carrying it no more.
I've been waiting so long.
I don't want to be carrying it no more.
When I woke up I
was in a war zone.
I was surprised to find a gun beside my feet.
The handle fit just right,
my eye was on the sights,
and I was feeling like
"It can't be that easy."
I don't want to be carrying it no more.
But we're going to wait
so long.
Yeah, we're going to wait
so long. Yeah, we're going to wait
so long.
Yeah we're going to wait,
so long.
You're heart beats faster.
I'm trying to figure out
if I should shoot or not.
