Pearl Jam On: Lightning Bolt

I think, uh, I think Sirens and Infallible
Are both, kind of feel like territory
That we've maybe touched on a little bit
But just really, sort of expanded our range
For us to be able to kind of do

Those ones sonically seem like something beyond where we've been
And that we're capable of a little more orchestrated
And a little more of an orchestrated sound
Even though it's still pretty simple in terms of the instrumentation
That, just this, it's just a wider, uhm, a wider sound

I think if you really wanted to go down the road
You could go with Pendulum
In terms of like, going (mhm), to a dark, different route
Or a experimental route

To me, it seems like a progression from Backspacer
Like, I think sonically we had a certain thing going on
On that record that we built upon
Just, the scope is I think a lot bigger, you know?
Melodically, it's, I think it's, it's pretty, pretty awesome
But I think we were able to sorta
Add some really nice keyboard effects
And, you know, different guitar sounds

It seems really like, even more so than Backspacer
This is a record that each song, if we just
Play the, the nuts and bolts of what's there
It's gonna come across, uhm, in a live situation
That foundationally, they seem like, very well structured, very well
And, and simply structured in a way that makes them very playable

Yeah, I think the instrumentation and the interplay
Is better than the last record (yup)
I think we're not all playing the same thing (yup)
Guitars, really have grown
Like, I've really been appreciating the guitar playing on the record
Like, the more that I listen to it, like it
Seems like there's more unique sounds and parts
On this record than there was last record
