i want to close my eyes and see more than darkness.
more than failed attempts at breathing life into our deathbeds.
this is the sound of promises failing, this is the sound of hope tearing apart.
we will never feel at home when every day is a new kind of punishment,
a punch straight to our resolve, a reality check of unimportance.
this is our statement of intent, we are taking back what was lost.
no one is carrying the torch for us, so we are turning this all to ash.
burn it down and start all over again.
