Dialogue With God

Oh I know we don't talk often
So I'll start our dialogue
I'm real sorry for the times that I forgot to walk the dog
I apologize for leaving when I know I should have stayed
And I'm sorry for the times I always get in my own way

Oh I'd love some answers as to why I am the way I am
All you've given me is peanut butter
Where the hell's my jam
And I'm sorry for the times I acted foolish as a kid
Don't know if you're even real

When things turned out the way they did

I'm not one to complain
Or dance in the rain
I've done it before
Just once don't need your time
Maybe toss me the guy
And a little bit more
Man I don't ask for much
Just maybe true love
And a record deal

So please God just bite the clouds
So I can find out how I'm supposed to feel

I've been waiting for a difference a change in my routine
And I never for a second ever thought it could be me
Is it possible that I've had all the answers all along?
Then what's the use of restless nights and what's the use of writing songs
Sometimes I feel like the odd one out in our world's population

All my daydreams seem so vivid so do made up conversations
I'll make history I'll do it by myself of that I'm sure
Our conversations over I don't need you anymore

I'm not one to complain
Or dance in the rain
I've done it before
Just once don't need your time
Maybe toss me the guy
And a little bit more
Man I don't ask for much
Just maybe true love
And a record deal
So please God just bite the clouds
So I can find out how I'm supposed to feel
