Shadows Die - Commentary
Uhm, shadows die is a song that
Musically, uhm, was a demo that Jake And Jinxx had come up with
Early on in the process
I think before we even, uhm, started really writing with them
And it was, it was kind of a-, a demo
That they had written at home and
Uhm, we had all kind of th-, we always loved the song
But I don't think it was until the story really got
Uhm, a hundred percent
Until we understood where it would go
In the context of the album
Uhm, lyrically it's a point where it's
It's the, the battle in the record
This is where the wild ones are fighting with F.E.A.R.
And it's a very manic and crazy sounding song
And it's, eh, within it you can hear F.E.A.R. screaming at
At you know the, the citizens in Sank you know
You belong in the shadows and-and you, you know
Don't pay attention to the man behind the curtain kind of thing and
It's a very frantic and crazy sounding song
It's actually, musically I think
My, one of my favorite things we've ever done
And I think it's definitely the most impressive thing we've ever done musically
And that it's a, very big and grand kind of
Danny Elfman-esque sounding song
