Call Me (Warner Germany Acoustic Session) [Live]

One of the things that I wanted everybody in the room to, uh
Realize was that, for us, being here right now is, um, beyond an honor for us
We've been, uh, very much anxious about finally being able to come here
And for us, it's really overwhelming at the moment, I must admit, um
And for, for me and, I know, for Nick and Mr. Kerch, um
We all feel as if music is universal, that's the way we've always looked at it

So when we finally got the opportunity to come here
We were blown away by the fact that: (a) we were getting to do it
And also when we found out that all of you, tonight, were going to be here
Just the fact that you're here right now is an incredible honor
I know I'm saying "thank you" a lot
But it means a great deal to me that you guys are here, and you ladies, um

This next song was, uh, was a difficult one to write as well, um
And it is what it is, this song
A very good friend of mine was going through a divorce
And he could not get down his feelings about what was happening to him
Because he was losing the person that he loved
But this was one part of his life that was going to end
So I wrote how I believe he felt down in a song
And he's told me before after he heard the song that
That's everything he ever wanted to say
This is a song called Call Me

Wrap me in a bolt of lightning
Send me on my way still smiling
Maybe that's the way I should go
Straight into the mouth of the unknown

I left a spare key on the table
I never really thought I'd be able
To say I merely visit on the weekends
I lost my whole life and a dear friend

'Cause I've said it so many times
That I would change my ways, no, never mind
And God knows I've tried

Call me a sinner, call me a saint
Tell me it's over, I'll still love you the same
And call me your favorite, call me the worst
And tell me it's over, I don't want you to hurt
'Cause it's all that I can say
So I'll be on my way

I finally put it all together
That nothing really lasts forever
I had to make a choice that was not mine
I had to say goodbye for the last time
I kept my whole life in a suitcase
I never really stayed in one place
And maybe that's the way it should be
You know I live my life like a gypsy

'Cause I've said it so many times
That I would change my ways, no, never mind
God knows I've tried

Call me a sinner, call me a saint
And tell me it's over, I'll still love you the same
And call me your favorite, yeah, call me the worst
Tell me it's over, I don't want you to hurt
It's all I can say
So I'll be on my way

'Cause I'll always keep you inside
You healed my heart and my life
And you, yeah, you know I tried

Call me a sinner, call me a saint
Tell me it's over, I'll still love you the same
And call me your favorite, call me the worst
And tell me it's over, I don't want you to hurt
It's all I can say
So I'll be on my way

So I'll be on my way
So I'll be on my way

Thank you
