The Good Old Times

This life's full of fallacies
So we are often told
With pleasures and palaces
A bill of goods were sold

But life still has its jolly side
On that we must agree
Why seek the melancholic side
Take my philosophy

You hear 'em talk a lot
About the good old times
But at the time they didn't seem that good

The times when you were young
Than on the bottom run
Are hardly ever understood

There's that moment when you find
You hold an empty glass
You still see bubbles winking at the brim

Now the person may say
The good times pass away
But no one ever drinks to him

Yeah, time is still a-flying
And my dreams are on the way
The fountain of youth
May be dry enough
But life is a never ending spring

Those loathed sitting times
Those happy meeting times
If you ignore them they may turn away and fly
So don't ever let those good times
No need to knock on good times
Slip away
And pass you by

Ohh, those loathed sitting times
Those happy meeting times
You must enjoy 'em or they'll turn away and fly
So don't ever let the good times
Those living-as-you-should times
Slip away
Then pass you by
