Cholla - Spotify Session
Cholla, cholla, you've kept us away
We'll come back tomorrow and give you one day
The talent of time, the thief that delays
We'll come back tomorrow and tear down your ways
Otherwise
Where are we going? What are we doing?
You siphon a smile from the source
How do we move on when nothing is growing?
Your hands turn to daggers again
Nonpar, nonpar, nonpareil
You rush to the future and paint it yourself
Together we're lucky, together we're set
When nothing comes easy, only the finest are left
Where are we going? What are we doing?
You siphon a smile from the source
How do we move on when nothing is growing?
Your hands turn to daggers again
(My love)
This is the way it has played
But these are our riches to take
What came of, of goodness, our fairness
Nothing proves otherwise
Where are we going? Where are we going?
Where are we going? Where are we going?
Where are we going? And what are we doing?
Cholla, cholla, cholla, oh
Well, thank you
Thank you very much
So you folks holed up, holed up in a cabin in Portland, Maine to record the new record, is that, is that correct?
Yeah, yeah, kind of, happy accident, really, I'm so glad it happened, 'cause, um, yeah, we were meant to be finishing a tour there
Um, the show didn't actually happen for whatever reason, but, um, we needed a, a couple of weeks just, kind of lock ourselves away and, and try and finalize these ideas
'Cause we're always writin', we always had a bunch of stuff that we, um, that we're working on, but we, we're tourin' so much we very rarely get time to, to finally realize them
And, and it was perfect, y'know, uh, out in the wilderness, essentially, in, in the cold and just loggin', lockin' ourselves away in this, uh, wooden cabin
Um, and we enjoyed it so much we went back, uh, this was in two weeks, in November, we went back in January and took a month then, yeah, we just couldn't stop writin'
It just all came about really quickly, didn't it? It was perfect
Yeah, it was a bit strange, because a lot of people thought we were crazy, kind of going to Maine in January, 'cause we did like
We got like nine foot of snow, and we kind of lived off one chicken for about three weeks, didn't we?
Lots of soup, had an awful lot of soup in that, and in that period, and uh, yeah, it was a bit of cabin fever 'cause we didn't really see anybody else and, uh, but yeah, it was good
But it was great, y'know, we-we love the chaos the touring brings (yeah), but, um, like I say, it was perfect for just completely getting consumed in the record, y'know
So, definitely would do it again
Should we do another song? I think this is gonna be the debut of this track, actually, in terms of in its acoustic form
And, we, in fact, we've never played it at all live
That's a good point
There we go, you, you should be really fucking nervous
Never even practice it
I'm always nervous being in a bad with you guys
Cool
Now this song's called Tendons
