Holy War (Commentary)
Ah, hey, it's Steve Lukather, "Holy War"
That was a song originally started in the studio
Over at CJ Vanston's studio, our co-producer
Who worked on the album with us
And he's also a great songwriter, musician as well
It was something that we started together
And then brought Joseph Williams
And we played it, we tried a couple of versions of it
Really thought it needed some help, and it's
It's a cool song, because it harkens back to the-
One of the things that we do a lot is we have multiple lead vocalists on one song
So knowing that that was gonna be the case
Bringing Joseph in seemed to make
Perfect sense, and he had a great, a really great
Different outlook for the melody and the lyric on this one, brought it all together
So that's a-, it's a pre-, pretty cool piece actually
