Take It Back (Nate Ruess Spotify Commentary)

Take it back is one of my favorite songs on the album!
If not my favorite, it's not often that (um)
Just being the kind of
Control freak that i am
I rarely like take a cord progression
And sing over it someone else's cord progression i usually come in With
This whole idea and- kinda base it from there but
Emile just had this beat that he was really excited about he wanted to play for me
And um
It had music to it, it had a cord progression
And i was just automatically blown away by it And
The next night, uh i just asked to play and just hit record
I just made everything up on the spot
Second take, the end of the night
I had enough to drink that i felt confortable and
Thats the take, thats the second take vocally
I have no idea what im singing about
But um as a "Van Morrison" obsessed person i just had to learn to adLib
And appreciate it and at first i thought "Oh im gonna im gonna go back and rerecord it" And all this other type of stuff
But i just remembered, i still go back to where i was
Everything like emotionally
Uh, i can remember every part about that night as i was recording it
And i dont want to change that because it was just it captured a moment and it captured the album
For me the way it was made and everything like that perfectly
So that song still just gets no burn in my head.
